Reese's Fans Beg for Return of Fan-Favorite Snack Almost 20 Years After It Was Discontinued

Recently, fans of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups reflected on past discontinued releases and wondered which ones they'd like to come back—with the majority picking one short-lived fan favorite from around 20 years ago.

The conversation started when food influencer snackbetch on Instagram shared a photo collage of past releases like Reese's Inside Out Peanut Butter Cups and Reese's Whipps.

Despite the wide range of tasty treats in the photo, most fans seemed to agree that the short-lived Reese's Swoops should be officially brought back.

Swoops were originally released in 2003 with a variety of variations, including a Hershey's Milk Chocolate and Almond Joy version. Reese's had two versions of Swoops, with the classic Reese's Peanut Butter and Reese's White Chocolate.

In the Instagram comments, fans clamored for Swoops to come back, with replies like, "The Swoops were so good 🤤🤤," "swoops 😭," "Swoops!!!!!" and "The Swoops 🔥🔥🔥."

"100% the Swoops," said another, as someone else wrote, "I was excited for a second and thought swoops were back 😭🤣."

A similar comment read, "That was wrong playing with my heart I thought swoops were back 😭."

Back in 2023, fans' wishes for Swoops to come back got so much attention that Hershey's responded, but unfortunately, it wasn't the reply people wanted.

The company told The U.S. Sun, "It’s always great to see the love and enthusiasm for our products, but at this time there are no immediate plans for Swoops to return."

But that didn't rule out the chance that Swoops could make a return at some point in the future—so fans of the discontinued treat can have some hope that one day, they might come back.
