You’re Cordially Invited to see Reese Witherspoon slay another red carpet.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the actress arrived at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City for a screening of her latest comedy, costarring Will Ferrell.

The actress wore a Louis Vuitton black wool flounce jacket and skirt with gold detailing on the zipper and buttons for the star-studded affair, which included a man dressed as an alligator.

Witherspoon’s set consisted of a long-sleeved peplum jacket with a matching black mini skirt. The bottom half featured two layers of ruffles that perfectly mirrored the design of her top.

The actress and producer kept her look classically chic with a pair of black, closed-toe pumps.

Her voluminous hair rested at her shoulders, and the Legally Blonde alum went for soft, pink tones for her makeup, giving her a perfectly refreshed look.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE on the red carpet, Witherspoon and Ferrell, 57, couldn’t help but jokingly reflect on how the Elf star was snubbed for the Sexiest Man Alive title.

“I mean I missed out last year,” the comedian quipped, referring to John Krasinski taking the crown in 2024.

However, Witherspoon tells PEOPLE there’s no other candidate for the 2025 competition.

“Because I mean, who else would it be?” the actress said. “I can't think of anybody."

“I think last year the idea was, kind of, floated out there," Ferrell continued. "People were slightly indoctrinated to it. Now let's go people, pull the trigger!"

In You’re Cordially Invited, Witherspoon plays Margot, the sister of a bride, while the Anchorman star plays Jim, the father of a different bride.

Margot and Jim don’t know each other at first, but their worlds soon collide as their respective wedding parties have been accidentally double-booked, forcing them to battle it out for the best ceremony — even fighting for that picture-perfect sunset moment.

According to a synopsis, the pair "chaotically go head-to-head as they stop at nothing to uphold an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones."

While speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in July 2023, Witherspoon reflected on producing and starring in light-hearted films such as the upcoming comedy.

“I think about what I want to see on a Friday night, and while I can appreciate a true-crime show or a podcast, I really need some levity. I think the world is looking for a little brightness,” she said.

The comedy, written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, also stars Meredith Hagner, Geraldine Viswanathan, Jimmy Tatro, Stony Blyden, Leanne Morgan, Rory Scovel, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ramona Young and Celia Weston.

You're Cordially Invited is available for streaming on Prime Video on Thursday, Jan. 30.
