Food blogger SodaSeekers shared a post on Instagram on Nov. 25 that revealed that the Green Edition of Red Bull will no longer be dragonfruit-flavored, but will instead have another tropical flavor, curuba elderflower.
“Red Bull's Dragon Fruit Green Edition is no more,” wrote the influencer, noting that while the change has not been officially announced, “the rebranded Green Edition cans have already popped up for sale in retailers.”
Curuba is a tropical fruit also known as a banana passionfruit. The food blogger did not specify if the flavor profile of the beverage leans towards the sweet and tart curuba or more towards the floral notes brought on by elderflower, though when the flavor was introduced as a limited-edition summer flavor, Red Bull noted that it tasted like “a burst of curuba, citrus, melon and an elderflower finish.”
Fans were not pleased with the news, and voiced their objection in the comments. “Nooooooooo that’s one of the best ones 😢,” wrote one commenter. “Nooooo! I love my dragonfruit!” agreed another fan.
Many of the reactions were sad in nature, with commenters writing, “RIP dragon fruit 😢,” and “I’ll miss you forever dragon fruit 😭😭😭.”

Others used the platform to reminisce about other Red Bull flavors that are no longer in production, writing, “Bring back pomegranate pls.” Another fan suggested that “They need to make winter edition permanent 🔥.” A third said that Red Bull should “Bring back kiwi apple.”
Still, not all commenters were opposed to the change, with one fan writing, “this one clears dragon fruit,” and a fellow fan of the new flavor commenting, “BIGGEST WIN.”
