Rebel Wilson Plans to 'Move Forward' After 'Heartache' and 'Struggles' Faced in 2024: 'Not a Fun Thing to Go Through'
Rebel Wilson looked back on a 2024 that included her wedding to wife Ramona Agruma and hinted at a controversy between her and Sacha Baron Cohen on Instagram
Rebel Wilson is looking back on 2024.
Wilson, who just shared photos from her legal wedding ceremony with her wife Ramona Agruma in Sydney on Dec. 28, shared a photo of herself to Instagram with Agruma and her 2-year-old daughter Royce Lillian to Instagram from her September wedding to Agruma in Italy.
"So pumped to bring in 2025! 🎆 What a year 2024 has been! Got married to my gorgeous Disney princess, my little girl is already a little lady, my memoir REBEL RISING was a New York Times Best Seller, the movie I directed had a huge gala premiere at Toronto Film Festival and I got to have some amazing adventures around the world with friends," Wilson, 44, wrote in a caption to her photos, which showed her, Agruma and Lillian enjoying New Year's fireworks together and the couple sharing a kiss.
"There’s been some heartache this year, some struggles - having crisis PR teams pump absolutely rubbish for their client’s agendas is INSANE and not a fun thing to go through but the cream always rises to the top!" she added in the caption. "I’ll keep working hard, moving forward, so so grateful for all the amazing blessings I have in my life 💜"

Wilson appeared to make reference to a controversy between her and Sacha Baron Cohen that erupted after she published her memoir Rebel Rising, in which she alleged that Baron Cohen, 53, harassed and humiliated her while making their 2016 raunchy comedy The Brothers Grimsby. Baron Cohen has vehemently denied those claims, with a rep stating back in March that Wilson's allegations "are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”

In addition to celebrating the release of her memoir in 2024 and her September wedding, Wilson also noted the premiere of her directorial debut The Deb at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival the same month in her New Year's Eve post. The Deb's premiere came marred with legal drama behind the scenes between Wilson and the film's producers, which remains ongoing.
Wilson's The Deb is an Australian-set musical that follows a high school outcast (Natalie Abbott) who decides to redefine herself at her small town's Debutante Ball, or "the Deb." The movie does not yet have a release date.
"thank you to everyone here on Insta for being so lovely and supportive! I adore you all!" Wilson finished in her caption as she wrapped up 2024. "Thank you for writing to me and sharing your life with me. Rebel xoxo"
