Jessica Biel is known for keeping things casually elegant, but the A-lister turned up the glamour for Fendi's runway show on February 21 in Milan. In the midst of Fashion Month, the Candy actress arrived to sit front row at one of the season's most prestigious shows, wearing a head-to-toe Fendi outfit that channeled "relaxed sex appeal" and effortless beauty.

Ahead, Biel tells InStyle how her look came together, including a makeup hack that's rarely steered her wrong, and what it felt like to sit front row.

The Fashion

The outfit Biel hand-picked from Fendi's Fall/Winter 2024 collection reflected the energy of the fashion house and the rich history of the city in which the show took place. "The look I chose was a dress from the goddess section of the collection inspired by ancient Roman statues and art," she says.

The look in question — a pair of thigh-high leather boots and an oversized blouse complete with goddess print — was well-suited for a spot in the runway show's front row. But it also reflects Biel's personal style. "[The top] had interesting cutouts in the back, which gave it a relaxed sex appeal," Biel explains. "I felt powerful and elegant in it and would wear it out at night or during the day for business."

The Beauty

Biel is known for leaning into the magic of a subtle makeup look. Often spotted with a soft pink lip and a lit-from-within glow, she opted to stay true to her go-to beauty approach for the Fendi show. "Glam today was inspired by effortless, chic beauty. We were going for an easy daytime look that was refreshed and playful," she shares.

As for how it all came together, Biel credits a tried-and-true makeup hack: "I sometimes like to choose my lip color first, apply it, and then build the rest of the makeup around that feature."

You wouldn't know it from Biel's sense of ease (both sartorially and personally) in the front row, but the Fall/Winter 2024 Fendi show was Biel's first. "It's my first time attending, and the energy is enormous," she says of the experience. "Everyone is pulsing with excitement." Biel came away from the experience invigorated, calling the day "really electrifying and exciting to be a part of."

Fendi's FW24 collection brought tailoring to the forefront, layering modern proportions into its separates and a subtle sense of whimsy in its contrasting color palette of rich jewel tones, dusty rose, and mustard yellow.

After catching all the elegance in action, Biel already has her eye on a few standout pieces — and a few ideas on how she'd style them. "I loved the sheer polka dots skirts and sheer tops from the collection," she shares. "I would wear them to any evening event or outing."

She also found herself drawn to Fendi's multi-layered silhouettes and statement-making coats. "I loved all the outwear," Biel shares. "The dark green long coat was divine."

While Fendi's Fall/Winter 2024 runway show may have been her first foray into Fendi's Milan Fashion Week schedule, it's not likely to be the last.
