Razzie Nominations: ‘Joker’ Sequel, ‘Megalopolis’ & ‘Madame Web’ Among Biggest Losers

It’s that time of year again, when Hollywood celebrates the year’s best motion pictures and performances and such. It’s also when the Razzie Awards turns all that on its ear.

In the running for Worst Picture at the 45th Golden Raspberry Awards — watch a video about them above — are vidgame adaptation Borderlands, musical sequel Joker: Folie à Deux, Marvel’s Madame Web, Freancis Ford Coppola’s passion project Megalopolis and presidential biopic Reagan.

Not coincidentally, all five are tied with six Razzie noms apiece. Those films’ helmers also are up for the Director “prize,” except for Reagan‘s Sean McNamara; Jerry Seinfeld took that fifth slot for his Pop Tarts comedy Unfrosted. The erstwhile sitcom king also is up for Worst Actor.

From the “How the Mighty Have Fallen” Department, among the men and women nominated for acting Razzies are Academy winners Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga (Joker: Folie à Deux), Cate Blanchett (Borderlands), Ariana DeBose (Argylle and Kraven the Hunter) and Jon Voight (Megalopolis and Reagan).

Unfrosted got four total Razzie noms, and The Crow reboot has two. Winners will be announced March 1, the day before the Oscars.
