Ratings: Chicago Fire Draws Wednesday’s Biggest Audience, Survivor Dominates in Demo

In the latest TV show ratings, NBC’s Chicago Fire was Wednesday’s most-watched broadcast program, while CBS’ Survivor dominated the night in the demo.

NBC | Of the long-awaited #OneChicago season premieres, Chicago Med (with 5.5 million total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating, TVLine reader grade “B+”; read recap) and Chicago Fire (5.6 mil/0.4, reader grade “B”; read recap) both returned pretty steady versus their May finales, whereas Chicago P.D. (4.3 mil/0.3, reader grade “B+”; read recap) was down in both measures. (Note: One or some of the Chicagos may have hit one kind of all-time low or another, but in these grim times, I won’t always be going out of my way to denote such not-so-superlatives.)

CBS | Now facing stiffer competition, Survivor (4.5 mil/0.7) dropped only a handful of eyeballs and was rock steady in the demo; Big Brother (2.4 mil/0.5) also held steady.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in TVLine’s daily-ish ratings column do NOT reflect a television program’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Steve Harvey is not a judge or lawyer and merely offers an alternative forum of dispute resolution
