It's a good day when there's a Uniqlo sale on. Yep, along with H&M, the Japanese label has become something of a high street hero and is one of our go-to's for all our wardrobe essentials. Especially in summer, with its easy linen staples in regular rotation in our workwear outfits *and* off-duty looks.
Having previously collaborated with designers including Anya Hindmarch, JW Anderson and Jil Sander, Uniqlo has pretty impressive fashion credentials that far surpass its "only basics" reputation. Though its minimalist aesthetic is clearly in high demand according to TikTok. You likely own one – if not more – of the label's iconic crossbody bags that went viral on the social media platform thanks to its holdall capabilities and universal wearability.
Well, the retailer is spoiling us again, announcing its Arigato Festival in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first Uniqlo store opening in the suburbs of Japan.
When is the Uniqlo sale?
From Thursday 23 May until Sunday 2 June (the exact date the store opened waaay back in 1984), customers can make the most of 40% off selected items. In those 40 years, Uniqlo has gone on to open over 2,400 stores. Pretty impressive!
What to buy in the Uniqlo sale
The limited-time sale is admittedly a selective edit, but we're happy to report some of the brand's favourites are included. We're talking the Ribbed Cropped Bra Top, another TikTok viral sensation, alongside *that* Round Shoulder Bag – though only in the black and off-white colourway.
We'll be making the most of the seasonal picks and updating our summer wardrobes ahead of holiday szn with floaty dresses and wedge sandals. Plus, you can never have too many linen shirts, IMO. A classic button-down is the hardest working item in our vacay suitcase doubling as everything from a beach cover-up to a cute sightseeing 'fit when knotted and worn with shorts.
