Princess Eugenie Celebrates Sister Princess Beatrice's Pregnancy News with New Family Photo
"So looking forward to more on this journey of motherhood together," Princess Eugenie wrote in the congratulatory post
Princess Eugenie is celebrating her sister Princess Beatrice's baby on the way.
On Oct. 1, Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Beatrice, 36, is pregnant and expecting her second child with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Beatrice and Edo, 40, are already parents to daughter Sienna, 3, and his son Christopher Woolf, 8, from a previous relationship — and the new baby, due in early spring 2025, will make them a family of five.
Princess Eugenie, 34, sent her elder sister warm wishes on social media following the palace announcement (which initially featured a rare royal error!) along with a new photo of their family together.
"Congratulations Beabea.. So looking forward to more on this journey of motherhood together. And adding another little one to the gang," Princess Eugenie wrote on Instagram on Oct. 1.
"I couldn't find a single group shot of us 🤦🏻♀️, so this one from Christmas 2022 will have to do," she added.
Eugenie's two-part carousel opened with a previously unseen shot of her, Beatrice, Edo, her husband, Jack Brooksbank, Sienna and August, Eugenie and Jack's 3-year-old son. The snap captured the family bundled up in casual clothes and rain boots, standing in a shallow body of water.
Hands-on dads Edo and Jack reached for their kids, while Beatrice laughed and Eugenie fixed her hat. Part of the family — but not part of the photo! — was Princess Eugenie and Jack's younger son Ernest, 1, who was born in May 2023.
The next shot showed Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice standing and laughing together on what looked like the same day. The image was familiar, as Eugenie previously shared it for her sister's birthday in August 2023.
The royal family will expand when Princess Beatrice's new baby is born, and Buckingham Palace said that she is due next year.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna," said the palace statement on Oct. 1, using the affectionate family nickname for Edo's son.

"His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news," it added about King Charles, who is Beatrice's uncle.
The palace announcement came with new photos of Beatrice and Edo hugging, and Edo walking in the woods with both Sienna and Wolfie.
Princess Beatrice's mother Sarah Ferguson also posted new photos and a sweet tribute after the palace announced that the princess is expecting.
"A very proud GiGi/Mum today. Such an incredible blessing and an embrace to my heart. Wolfie, August, Ernie and Sienna will be over the moon to have the fifth member of the five aside!" the Duchess of York wrote on Instagram on Oct. 1.

Ferguson also shared previously unseen family photos, including a picture of her with her daughter and granddaughter in a garden, two shots of Beatrice with Sienna and a black and white snap of the Duchess of York hugging Beatrice and Eugenie.
"Our family is growing, and so too is the love that surrounds us. I cannot wait to meet this little one and to share in all the wonderful memories we will make together," she wrote.
Princess Beatrice and Edo's new baby is expected to enter into the line of succession, following grandfather Prince Andrew, mother Princess Beatrice and sister Sienna as 11th in line to the British throne.
