Queen 'delighted' as Princess Beatrice announces she's pregnant
Princess Beatrice has announced she is expecting her first child with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The royal family revealed the exciting news on their social media account, writing: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.
"The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."
The baby, the first for Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, and her property developer husband, comes after the pair tied the knot in July amid COVID-19 restrictions.
Edoardo is already a dad to four-year-old Wolfie from his relationship with former fiancee, Dara Huang.
He named his and Dara’s son after his beloved step-father, Christopher Shale, who collapsed and died at Glastonbury Festival.

Beatrice and Edoardo said ‘I do’ in a private ceremony in The Royal Chapel in Windsor Great Park.
Only 20 guests were in attendance, including the Queen, Prince Philip, Beatrice’s mother and father, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew and her sister, Princess Eugenie.
The Princess paid tribute to her royal gran by wearing a vintage dress owned by the Queen, as well as the same tiara the monarch donned for her own nuptials back in 1947.
The princess and her 37-year-old millionaire property developer beau were due to marry back on May 29 at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, London, but the coronavirus pandemic forced them to cancel their plans.
Beatrice and Edo announced their engagement on September 26 2019 after about a year of dating.
Edo, who is a member of the Italian nobility, got down on one knee with a platinum and diamond engagement ring worth an estimated £100,000 (AUD$180k) while the couple were on holiday in Italy.
Just weeks after revealing their happy news, Beatrice’s father, Prince Andrew, became embroiled in a scandal over his friendship with late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, prompting the couple to call off their engagement party.
The joyful news comes after a rough year for the Queen. Just last month, her beloved husband, Prince Philip, passed away.
Earlier today, it was also revealed that the Monarch is reportedly in mourning once again after the shock death of one of her dorgis.
