Why Prince William was 'furious' at Diana's statue unveiling
Prince William and Prince Harry came together for the first time in months back in July 2021 to unveil a statue of their late mother, Princess Diana.
But despite the brothers presenting a seemingly united front to honour their mother, it has now been revealed that William was reportedly "furious" at the time and didn't actually want to attend in the first place.
According to The Daily Mail, William had said he "didn't want to attend Princess Diana statue unveiling with Prince Harry," with sources claiming he had "taken the view that he could only 'give so much'" to his brother.
But it was his wife Kate Middleton that stepped in.
"Kate was amazing behind the scenes when Harry came," a royal aide told the publication, saying she acted as a "peacemaker".
While another aide added "[William] has had a year from hell and she has been fantastic supporting him."

The reunion of the brothers came just months after Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they levelled a set of bombshell accusations against the royal family.
There had been hopes the statue unveiling could have a more positive effect on the brothers' relationship, but insiders claimed the Duke of Cambridge did not greet his brother at the event.
Instead it was James Holt, former press officer at Kensington Palace and now head of the Archewell Foundation, that welcomed Harry.
William and Harry did issue a brief joint statement after the unveiling but were barely seen engaging in conversation.
"Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character—qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better," they said. "Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy."
At the time, body language expert Judi James also told The Sun that their body language at the event indicated that they're prioritising "their roles as Diana's sons over their roles as brothers".
It comes as a psychic predicted Prince William will face a "complex situation" in 2022. Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, numerologist Sarah Yip - aka The Numbers Queen – revealed there were major changes ahead for William and wife Kate, with the Duchess also set to face "uncomfortable times".
"Prince William’s numerology shows that his 39th year, from June 2021 to 2022 will be a lifetime turning point," she said.
"Kate’s chart shows that her 40th year from January to December 2022 will be one of the more uncomfortable times of her life."
