Prince Joachim of Denmark rushed to hospital for brain surgery
Prince Joachim of Denmark has been rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery.
The 51-year-old was admitted to Toulouse University Hospital in France, where he was immediately operated on for a blood clot in the brain.
In a statement, the Danish royals said the prince is now in a ‘stable’ condition and his wife, Princess Marie, is said to be by her husband's side.
"His Royal Highness Prince Joachim was admitted to the University Hospital of Toulouse, France, late last night,” the statement started.

“The prince was operated on immediately afterwards for a blood clot in the brain and the operation was successful. The condition of His Royal Highness is stable today."
The palace said they had no further information to provide but they asked the public to respect their privacy at this time.
Prince Joachim is the younger brother of Princess Mary’s husband, Prince Frederik, and has four children, Prince Nikolai, 20, Prince Felix, 18, Prince Henrik, 11, and Princess Athena, eight.
Just a few days ago, he was pictured on the royal instagram account celebrating Prince Felix’s 18th birthday with all his children, his wife, Prince Marie, and his first wife, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg.
They were all smiles for the camera as they relaxed in their summer residence, Chateau de Cayx, in France.
