Prince Harry 'frustrated' he's not able to protect Meghan from royal drama
It seems like it’s going to be an awkward Christmas for the royal family, as details surrounding their reported feud continue to trickle in from palace sources.
Claims that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are a loggerheads are rife amongst palace staff, with the feud being blamed for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s impending move from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage.
Then, it was reported that the driving force behind the frostiness between the Duchesses is actually coming from their husbands, Prince Harry and Prince William.
Prince Harry reportedly accused his brother of trying to ‘wreck his relationship’ with Meghan after Wills voiced concerns about the former Suits star when the couple first started dating.
Now, it’s being claimed Prince Harry is at the end of his tether with the drama, with a royal insider saying the rumours are putting ‘pressure’ on his relationship with Meghan Markle.
“He’s very frustrated with how little can be done,” the source told US Weekly.
“Keeping her away from the negativity and harm has been hard for him.
“It’s been his purpose in their relationship to keep her away from the negativity.”
Indeed, Prince Harry set that precedent from the start of their relationship, when he released a statement in November 2016, asking for his future wife’s privacy to be respected.
“Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her,” the statement read.
“It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm.
“He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his.”
And it seems Prince Harry isn’t the only one fed up with the constant rumours about their relationship, as Meghan Markle is also said to be frustrated with not being able to defend herself.
“She’s always been so independent, her entire life, and that’s all been taken away from her,” the US Weekly insider continued.
“She’s always been able to clap back on social media and now she can’t.”
