Princess Sofia of Sweden is dressing effortlessly during her pregnancy.

On Sept. 10, the Duchess of Värmland, 39, stepped out for two royal duties with her husband, Prince Carl Philip, a week after the palace announced that she is expecting their fourth child together. The set of engagements came with an outfit change — and Sofia impressively wore heels to both!

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip, 45, kicked off the workday at the opening of the Riksdag's 2024-2025 parliamentary session, where they joined King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Carl Philip's sisters Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine, and their respective husbands Prince Daniel and Christopher O'Neill. For this event, Princess Sofia wore a belted black dress with white polka dots, a black hair accessory and matching heels, sticking to a style tradition!

According to The Court Jeweller blog, when the opening of Parliament was a grander occasion, the court wore black and white. While the event has modernized with the times, women in the Swedish royal family are known to go with that color palette "in a nod to the past." Like Sofia, Queen Silivia, 80, Crown Princess Victoria, 47, and Princess Madeleine, 42, all wore black and white outfits to Riksdag in Stockholm.

Later that day, Princess Sofia switched outfits to attend a performance at the Royal Opera House — and turned up the glam! The Duchess of Värmland changed into a red velvet wrap dress tied above her growing bump and completed the look with a coordinating clutch and nude shoes.

It was a family affair at the opera house, where the royals came together for a concert commemorating the opening of the Riksdag.

On Sept. 2, the Swedish Royal Court shared the happy news that Princess Sofia was pregnant and due in February 2025. Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip are already parents to sons Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7, and Prince Julian, 3, and the baby on the way will make them a family of six.

"Their Royal Highnesses Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their fourth child," the court said in a statement.

"Princess Sofia is feeling well, and the birth is expected to take place in February 2025. During the autumn, no changes in the public schedule of Princess Sofia are planned," it said.

The news was shared on social media with a new photo of the royal couple, who wed in June 2015. Sofia became a princess when she married King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia's son, and they are both working royals.

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip carried out their first royal duty following the pregnancy announcement on Sept. 4, spending two days touring Värmland. Carl Philip was assigned the duchy by his father the King at birth, and his royal bio notes that he has a "particularly close" relationship with the country, which he visits both publicly and privately.
