The final chapter of the Single Black Female franchise picks up when Monica (Goodwin) has finally been exonerated after being wrongfully convicted of murder, but her freedom comes at a price. Though the charges against her have been dropped, the stain of suspicion lingers, and reclaiming her life, her career, and the trust of those around her is proving to be an uphill battle.

Meanwhile, the real threat has yet to vanish. Simone (Riley), now a fugitive, has fled to a convent in Mexico, having no choice but to abandon Houston, along with the one thing she truly cared about—her daughter, Joy (Kennedy Chanel). When a terrifying nightmare shakes her to the core, Simone becomes convinced Joy is in danger and returns to Houston, for a final reckoning between the estranged half-sisters.

It’s only a matter of time before old grudges resurface and Monica and Simone come face-to-face. K. Michelle reprises her role as Monica’s best friend, Bebe.

Williams is best known for starring on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta for nine seasons and is returning to the franchise in the upcoming season, premiering in March. The reality TV star’s previous acting credits include Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017), Steppin’ Back to Love (2020), Insecure (2020), Zootopia+ (2022), and Pretty Stoned (2023). Williams teased her return to acting last year when Deadline interviewed her at Bravo Fan Fest.

The Single Black Female franchise is based on 1992’s thriller Single White Female, which in turn is an adaptation of John Lutz’s 1990 novel SWF Seeks Same. Single Black Female premiered on Lifetime in 2022 and averaged more than 8 million total viewers across linear and digital platforms. The television movie was the No. 1 original non-holiday movie of 2022. A sequel titled Single Black Female 2: Simone’s Revenge premiered in 2024.
