Popeyes' New Pickle Menu Is Absolutely Real, and Fans are Losing It: 'We Are Here For It!'

I consider myself a pickle connoisseur and have enjoyed my fair share of vinegary cukes in various flavors since as far back as I can remember. Sour, extra spicy, garlic forward, small batch, bread and butter—you name it, I’ve probably tried it. I can list off my favorites from Claussen and Grillos to Wickles Pickles, and I’ve got a soft spot for classic Vlasic. I’ve even got a Vlasic x Think Royln pickleball bag and bucket hat.

I’ve been known to drink pickle juice from time to time and often have a lingering jar of pickle brine in my fridge just in case I get the hankering to make a chicken sandwich. It’s safe to say that I’m more than a fan. As much as I love pickles, though, there are some pickle combinations that even I couldn’t dream up. Grillos x Hippeas? Sure.  Spritz Society x Claussen? Maybe. But an entire pickle-themed menu at Popeyes? Now, that I never saw coming.

That’s right, my pickle-eating comrades, the beloved Louisiana-themed, crispy crunchy chicken chain is launching a menu that’s kind of a big dill, and before you ask, it’s not an April Fools joke. The chain teased that something new was brining last week on Instagram which caused internet sleuths to deduce that Popeyes was launching a pickle flavored lemonade. As it turns out, they were right on the money.

In addition to pickle lemonade that will in fact feature real pickle juice, the chain is also adding pickle glazed bone-in and boneless wings, fried pickles (obviously), as well as a pickle glazed fried chicken sandwich to the menu. You know, just in case pickle lemonade wasn’t outlandish enough.

To commemorate the occasion, the brand also “pickled” their flagship location in Times Square by turning the entire restaurant green from top to bottom and added an ASMR booth for diners to capture that signature Popeyes crunch. Due to the outrageous nature and cheeky timing of this new menu, fans are understandably hesitant to believe that this isn’t an April Fools prank. “I actually really want this but I fear it’s an April fools joke 😢,” said one fan. “Is this real life,” questioned another.

Thankfully, friends, this is no April Fools joke. The menu is in fact very real. And now that we’ve cleared that up, I’m suddenly craving Popeyes. Last one there is a rotten pickle!
