Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy remains an enduring style icon, thanks to her ‘90s It girl-approved fashion ethos of minimalist yet sophisticated styles. Now, the late publicist’s timeless appeal is heading to the silver screen, as Ryan Murphy brings John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s love story to life for an FX series, appropriately titled American Love Story. Apparently, Murphy has already figured out who will play JFK Jr.’s wife—and the Tony-nominated actress made her Broadway debut last year.

Sarah Pidgeon, who is best known for her roles in Amazon Prime’s The Wilds as well as Hulu’s Tiny Beautiful Things, has been cast to play the former model-turned-Calvin Klein fashion publicist, according to Vogue. It’s unknown who will be playing the other half of American royalty, politician John F. Kennedy Jr., as well as JFK Jr.’s mom, Jackie O., and his sister Caroline. However, Deadline reports that all three characters will also be prominently featured in the FX anthology.

While Pidgeon might not have Bessette-Kennedy’s signature platinum blonde hair (yet), she’s already nailed CBK’s quiet luxury aesthetic. The actress also has a 2024 Tony Award nomination for her role in Stereophonic, a Broadway show that appears to be loosely based on the story of Fleetwood Mac.

Anticipation is already drumming up for American Love Story, which will show the society power couple’s first meeting through their whirlwind romance and tabloid rumors to their tragic deaths during a private plane crash.
