Phoebe Philo’s Daughter Maya Models Quiet Luxury in Khaki Cropped Jacket and Bermuda Shorts on the Burberry Runway During London Fashion Week
Maya Wigram, the daughter of designer Phoebe Philo, walked the Burberry runway show during London Fashion Week on Monday, marking her second appearance on the runway for the brand.
Wigram wore a monochrome, khaki-hued ensemble. The khaki jacket, adorned with flapped-patch pockets and large brass-toned round buttons, extended to a mock turtleneck collar. A gold Burberry emblem adorned the left chest.

Beneath the jacket, she wore a soft pink shirt. Her khaki Bermuda shorts featured pocket detailing with front zippers. A Burberry tartan-patterned keychain hung from her belt loop. The look was completed with brown slingback heels.
WWD’s Samanthi Conti described Lee’s line as a sophisticated collection filled with military silhouettes, sequins and lightweight bags. “The designer riffed on the signature trench, turning it into a little capelet with silky feathers at the neck, and tapped into the brand’s military heritage for deconstructed drummer boy jackets and cool safari suits.”
Wigram’s appearance on the runway follows her role in Burberry’s fall campaign alongside Lila Moss, daughter of supermodel Kate Moss, as one of Burberry’s new “It” girls. The look directly reflected the influences of the brand’s latest collection, which drew inspiration from the Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Her outfit, featuring brass-toned buttons and detailed tailoring, matched the collection’s earthy tones and adventurous spirit.
Chief creative officer Daniel Lee, who worked under Philo as Celine’s director of womenswear from 2008 to 2017, wanted to to reimagine Burberry’s tradition of creating weatherproof clothing for explorers and military personnel with materials such as moleskin, wool and leather.
“We were inspired by the characters who wear Burberry, and the outdoors and landscapes that are part of the brand’s heritage. The Lake District feels familiar, and it has a sense of adventure,” Lee said.
Wigram made her runway debut closing Burberry’s fall 2024 show in London last February.
