Why Pete Evans doesn’t let the critics get to him

Celebrity chef Pete Evans has been very open about his preference for the paleo diet.

And while he’s faced backlash over his food and lifestyle choices, the My Kitchen Rules judge says he doesn’t let the critics get to him.

The 45-year-old, who is now promoting Healthy Everyday Pets with Pete Evans, says he’s seen many critics turn around after some time, so being the ‘laughing stock of Australia’ in the short term isn’t a big deal to him.

“I’ve been promoting a paleo approach for the last seven years and we’ve had an amazing dialogue and conversation about it and you just need to look at the supermarkets and how quickly they’ve changed,” he told Be exclusively.

“Six or seven years ago it was laughable, I was the laughing stock of Australia when I spoke about activated almonds, but now, they’re stocked in all the supermarkets where we shop.”

In a short period time, Pete, along with other industry leaders who are passionate about the health of the country, have managed to create a much-needed conversation about what we’re putting into our bodies.

“The next logical step is what we’re feeding our animals,” he said.

Pete believes that we are causing a lot of harm to our ourselves, our kids and our pets, because essentially there’s just easily accessible and “atrocious” food in the shops.

“A lot of that comes down to education and understanding and having the knowledge base to make wise choices,” he said.
