Pet Parents' Wedding Plans Go Awry When Doodle Ditches Dad on the Dance Floor
During a special moment at their wedding reception, the bride and groom attempted a dance with their dog, but she had other plans.
On September 22, 2024, Oakley Doodlegram shared a video of Oakley, a beautiful Mini Goldendoodle who had a special role at her parent's wedding that didn't go as planned. Take a look!
In the clip, we're at Oakley's parents' wedding reception, and they've got a special dance planned. But she made her own plans.

"We brought our dog out for a father-daughter dance at our wedding, and here's how it went," the text on the video reads.
The bride and groom look stunning. As they head into the planned dance, the bride crouches down to meet Oakley, hoping to get a hug, but she ignores her entirely and just zooms by.
The bride tried a few more times to get her pup's attention, but there were so many things going on, and she wanted to see them all.
Mom eventually managed to grab Oakley and carry her to the dance floor, and the sweet pup and groom had an adorable first dance together.
"Nope, no time for dancing, I’ve got guests to greet!!" the video's caption read, joking that Oakley wasn't ready to focus in on her dad and daughter dance because there were so many people around that would give her pets.
Eventually, the dance happened, and it was adorable, which people reacted to in the comments.
One wrote, "Congratulations, furiend! Your entrance was pawfection!"
Another joked, "Love, love, love this! She’s the most important star on this stage. So cute."
Someone else shared, "Oakley, you are the dancing queen. What a beautiful wedding."
One shared, "It was her time to shine!!"
Someone wrote, "Hahaha, she’s too social got many people to see."
Another commented, "The star of the wedding was too busy."
"Dad needs to make an appointment; her social calendar is full!" joked another.
"She knows they’re all there for her," another shared.
"This is so precious," admitted another Instagram user.
"Oh my gosh!! Love this so much!!" someone else commented.
More Weddings Are Embracing the Whole Family Involvement, Including Pets
Over the past several years, more opportunities for our dogs and cats (and other pets) to be involved in weddings have been a growing, adorable trend.
And with social media, we don't have to be an invited wedding guest to see all the fun ways pet parents involve their pets in the big day.
Some of the more common duties of dogs in weddings or wedding receptions of late include walking the groom or bride down the aisle, being the ringbearer or flower person, greeting the guests, working as a photographer, maid of honor, or best man, and more.
Of course, for the wedding couple who wants to involve their pets in any of the big day fun, they need to head into the day knowing that their pet is likely to have a mind of their own, like Oakley, or their duties may not go off without a hitch. But what better way to have your guest leave with a story they'll remember, right?
