Joseph Gordon-Levitt Spoke Out About Donald Trump's Proposed Tax Cuts For The 1%, And People Are Praising Him
You know Joseph Gordon-Levitt, aka JGL, right?
Well, in a video shared on Aug. 30, the Emmy Award-winning actor shared that he's rejecting former president Donald Trump's proposed $70,000 tax. "So, Donald Trump wants to give me $70,000 in tax cuts per year," he began.
"And by the way, he doesn't want to give that to everybody, but I just read that's the average tax break for the top 1% if Donald Trump is elected president," Joseph said, referring to CNN's story about how the top 5% of taxpayers would get nearly half the benefit if Trump's 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is extended.
"You might say, well, he's going to give tax breaks to everybody, but not really because of all the tax cuts — of all that money — nearly half of it is going to go to just the top 5% of people," Joseph continued.
"Now, do I need an extra $70,000? Honestly, no. My family and I are doing fine," Joseph said. "Do I deserve an extra $70,000? I don't think so."
"It doesn't feel right to me, especially when he's also talking about cutting programs that help most people in our country," the 500 Days of Summer actor said, referencing the Atlantic story about Trump's renewed pledge to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare.
While the tax cut would essentially benefit Joseph, he's challenging the proposal and endorsing Trump's opponent. "Do you want to talk about who's going to really help most Americans? It's Kamala."

"Trump's going to help the same people he always tries to help, the wealthy, himself. He was born a wealthy guy," he added.
"And look, I completely respect needing to vote for the candidate that's going to make it easier for your family but Donald Trump isn't that candidate."
Joseph's online statement gained much attention, and he's receiving praise for speaking up and sharing his opinion.
Now, there's a decent, successful rich dude—who knows it's time to help other people. Respect.

What brutal honesty and integrity. Joesph is so down to earth and relatable. He understands that America needs the middle class, and that the 1 percent are already well taken care of. We cannot afford four more years of Donald Trump. Thank you Mr.Levitt 🇺🇸
