Pamela Anderson Goes Makeup-Free for “Glamour ”Magazine's Women of the Year Cover: See the Photos
"It's a practice," the 57-year-old actress and activist tells the magazine about her newfound beauty philosophy
Pamela Anderson's makeup-free philosophy is going strong.
Unveiled as one of Glamour's global Women of the Year on Monday, Sept. 30, the 57-year-old actress and activist appears on a special digital cover with minimal makeup and hairstyling. Tennis legend Serena Williams was named as the other honoree and graces her own cover.
In the photos, Anderson dons a series of chic, neutral ensembles including a khaki trench coat and a tailored Prada suit, all of which are accessorized with Pandora jewels. Her makeup appears nonexistent except for a pop of red lipstick.
“I’ve just done it and I’ve played with it,” the Baywatch alum tells Glamour about her decision to pare back her beauty routine. “I’ve nothing against makeup, but I felt like it just looked better on me in my 20s than it did now."

She continues, “You’re going to hit a crossroads in your 50s, and you go, Am I going to chase youth? Am I going to be miserable? Or am I going to be self-accepting? And it’s a practice. And it’s hard to say that you’re attempting all this if you’re still doing the red carpets and the covers of magazines plastered in makeup.”

After years of playing into the "character" of her Hollywood sex symbol persona, Anderson made the choice to embrace a more natural look. She debuted the new style — breaking the internet in the process — during Paris Fashion Week in September 2023.
"I don't know, something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, 'I don't want to compete with the clothes,'" Anderson said in a video for Vogue France. "I'm not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room. I feel like it's just freedom. It's a release."
"I don't need a stylist. I don't have a stylist," she added. "I don't have a glam team. I'm just kind of doing this, freestyle."

The star, who launched her vegan skincare line Sonsie in 2023, has since gone makeup-free on numerous occasions. She got a bit more dolled up for her Met Gala debut in May, but still kept things simple and glowy with a look courtesy of legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath herself.
For the glamorous event, Anderson wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a gathered bodice and dramatic train, a Noel Stewart faux leather headpiece and Pandora jewelry.
