Pamela Anderson Continues Her Understated Chic Streak With Barely There Makeup
Her look reflects her latest career era as an actress, too.
Pamela Anderson is ready to be taken seriously. Everything from her chic and classic fashion sense to her choice in film projects shows she has well and truly entered a new era of her career.
Attending the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards presented by Variety at the Hollywood Athletic Club, Anderson opted for an understated yet stylish black ensemble. She wore a satin black button-up shirt with a white collar tucked into a black midi pencil skirt. She added a touch of color and intrigue to the look, wearing a deep red top layered under her black shirt, allowing the sleeves and collar to peek through.
Anderson continued her streak of no makeup-makeup by keeping her beauty look simple and natural.
Anderson has been preparing for a new major film role. She stars in Gia Coppola's The Last Showgirl, which is due for release early next year. In the film, she plays an aging showgirl whose decades-long contract expires, leaving her forced to rejoin the audition circuit. Billie Lourd stars as her daughter, while Brenda Song and Kiernan Shipka play younger showgirls.
Speaking to Variety about the film, Anderson explained that it marks new creative territory for her. After all, for the first few decades of her career, she was known for being a sex symbol rather than for her work as an actor. “I’ve gone through a lot publicly and I’m glad that I still have a good sense of humor and not bitter,” she said.
Although she can now see the positives of her Baywatch fame, she is ready to break free of the stereotypes that came with it. “It’s a blessing to be a part of pop culture. It’s a blessing and a little bit of a curse, because you have to overcome that if you want to be an actress and play other characters," she said. "I’m hoping The Last Showgirl is something completely new that people will see me in and appreciate.”
