Outlander Finale Sneak Peek: Look Who’s Among the Living! But Danger Remains Afoot (Exclusive)

Outlander fans, we’re happy to offer you a hearty sigh of relief in the form of this exclusive first look at the series’ Season 7 finale: As you can see, Claire lives!

The Sassenach’s survival is an important development, given that Mrs. Fraser ended the previous episode with a musket ball in her liver and an alarming amount of her blood on the ground. (Unfortunately, that’s what being Revolutionary War battle-adjacent can get you.) Episode 15 ended with Dr. Hunter scrubbing in as Claire whispered guidance about the surgery she was about to undergo and Jamie tearfully begged his wife not to leave him. Outlander won’t air a new episode this Friday. But when the show returns on Jan. 17 for its season-ender, titled “A Hundred Thousand Angels” (available at midnight ET streaming and on-demand, 8/7c on Starz), Claire’s survival won’t mean the end of the Frasers’ troubles.

As you’ll recall, Jamie resigned his army commission in highly dramatic fashion when Claire was shot; it’s not likely that Gen. George Washington & Co. are going to look favorably on that decision. Not to mention: Our favorite lovebirds are still smack dab in the middle of a war. Plus, as you can see in the photo above, there’s still a lot of bruised feelings (and body parts) when it comes to the Claire/Jamie/Lord John situation. Doesn’t it look like Big Red has stumbled into a private conversation between the onetime Mr. and Mrs. John Grey?

Elsewhere in the episode, per the official synopsis: “William asks for help from an unexpected source in his mission to save Jane.”
