One Last Thing with Christian Slater: “Blink Twice” Star Says He's 'Good' at Diaper Swaddling After Welcoming Son (Exclusive)

The actor, whose fourth child was born in July, talks about the "tricky" aspect of tending to his newborn

Christian Slater is a pro when it comes to changing diapers — especially these days.

The actor, 55, and his wife Brittany — who are parents to a 5-year-old daughter — welcomed their second child, a boy, in July. Slater also has two adult children from a previous relationship.

He spoke to PEOPLE for its One Last Thing page, and revealed the last time he changed a diaper.

“Pretty recently,” he says. “The guy only weighs about 7 lbs., so finding a diaper small enough is tricky, but we managed. I’m a good swaddling guy.”

Slater, 55, shares a few more of his “lasts.”

Last time I won something
I won a push-up contest while we were making Blink Twice. [Costar] Channing Tatum started it. I think I did, like, 52. I could have kept going, but  I didn’t want to embarrass everyone. The prize was a wonderful feeling that I kicked Magic Mike’s ass.

Last time I was superstitious
At the Biltmore Hotel in Miami, our room was on the 13th floor. They said it was haunted, and I was like, “Please. Give me a break. I’m going to stay here and I’m going to be just fine.” But there were noises in the middle of the night, doors flying open. I had this horrendous nightmare. I was flailing my arms around. I felt like something was trying to grab me. It was pretty intense. We checked out the next day.

Last time I cried
When my dog Fish passed away. He was 12, and we got him when he was 3 months old. He was hilarious and neurotic but incredibly loving. He was like my wife's shadow. He would follow my wife around everywhere. I didn't think I would be as emotional as I was when [he died]. I was a wreck.

Last time I was out of my comfort zone
Right now. I’m always uncomfortable, but I can  put on a good act.
