Nina Dobrev and Shaun White just made their first joint red carpet appearance since getting engaged—and that new engagement glow was all over their faces.

On Wednesday, the couple attended the 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards, hosted by founder and president Prince William at Green Point Shared Fields in Cape Town, South Africa, where they looked more in love than ever before. For the occasion, Dobrev wore a strapless red gown by Carly Cushine with a ruffled neckline and column silhouette. She accessorized with sparkling hoop earrings, a gold metallic clutch, and, of course, her five-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond engagement ring.

Right by Dobrev's side was White, who appeared to give his fiancée a kiss on the green carpet while sporting a classic black tuxedo with a white dress shirt and black bow tie.

White and Dobrev's latest outing arrived approximately a week after they announced their engagement on Instagram. After five years of dating, White popped the question to the Vampire Diaries actress at the Golden Swan restaurant in New York City.

While speaking with Vogue, the former professional snowboarder revealed that he had a few different plans to propose to Dobrev. First, he was going to do it during their summer vacation, but she ended up injuring her knee during a dirt-biking accident. Then, he had plans to propose in Cape Town for The Earthshot Prize Ceremony, but White could tell Dobrev already had an inclining it might happen there.

So, he decided to do it on a random October night, sending Nina a fake invitation for an intimate CFDA/Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan. “He made the invite look so legitimate,” Dobrev said, laughing. Running a few minutes late, she added, “I was in a panic that Anna’s waiting for me."

Ultimately, she found White, dressed in Ralph Lauren under an arch of white roses, and knew what was about to go down. “I went into shock. I just froze and stared at him,” she said, before repeating the word "no" in disbelief.
