‘Nightbitch’ Trailer: Amy Adams Eats Dog Food and Transforms Into a Canine in Comedy Horror
Searchlight Pictures has released the trailer for “Nightbitch,” a horror comedy starred Amy Adams that’s based on the 2021 novel by Rachel Yoder.
Per the official logline “Nightbitch” follows an “artist who pauses her career to be a stay-at-home mom [and] seeks a new chapter in her life [who] encounters just that, when her nightly routine takes a surreal turn and her maternal instincts begin to manifest in canine form.”

Adams leads the cast joined by Scoot MacNairy, Mary Holland, Jessica Harper, Zoë Chao, Ella Thomas, Stacey Swift, Archana Rajan, Adrienne Rose White, Darius De La Cruiz and Roslyn Gentle.
While originally slated for a straight-to-streaming release on Hulu, Searchlight later gave the film a wide theatrical release.
Adams has not been on the big screen in almost three years, last starring in Disney’s “Disenchanted,” which was released straight to Disney+ in 2022. However, the Oscar-winning actor has three other feature films in the works expected to roll out in the coming years, including Kornél Mundruczó’s “At the Sea,” “The Invite” with Paul Rudd and “Klara and the Sun” with Jenna Ortega.
Marielle Heller serves as director and co-wrote the script with Yoder. Adams, Heller, Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Stacy O’Neil and Christina Oh serve as producers. Executive producers include Yoder, Allison Rose Carter, Megan Ellison, Adam Paulsen and Sammy Scher. Annapurna Pictures, Archer Gray, Bond Group Entertainment and Defiant By Nature produce.
