Nicole Kidman delivered an elegant take on the transparent trend at the premiere for Netflix’s newest animated movie, Spellbound.
On November 11 in New York City, the actor stepped onto the premiere’s red carpet looking utterly enchanting in a Dolce and Gabbana creation. The sweeping Alta Moda dress was made out of tulle illusion fabric, complete with swirling floral embroidery and ornate appliqué fabricated out of brocade, lace, and macramé—all of which covered the entire length of the dress, from the long sleeves to the floor-grazing hemline.
Nicole accessorized the look sparingly, opting simply for a few bejeweled cocktail rings and a pair of black pointed-toe pumps. Beauty-wise, she wore glowy bronze eyeshadow and styled her signature strawberry-blonde hair in voluminous mermaid waves.
In Spellbound, the actor stars opposite Rachel Zegler and Javier Bardem as the voice of Queen Ellsmere. The children’s musical follows the journey of Ellian, a princess on a mission to reverse a spell that transformed her parents into monsters.
“I was so honored when they asked me [to sing in the movie],” Nicole said during a red carpet interview on Thursday, Novmber 7. “Obviously, Rachel has the most divine voice. So I was just like, ‘Oh no.’ …She was so nurturing and kind and encouraging as we went along. And obviously, with the composer being Alan [Menken] I was like, ‘I’m in. Just get me there, please.’”
She added, “Javier and I obviously have a history together, so it was so nice to be able to re-team. It’s just fun to be doing so many different things.”
