Russell Crowe has taken to Twitter to slam suggestions he was in a relationship with an up-and-coming Australian star Sophia Forrest.
The 53-year-old hit back at reports that he and Sophia were "smitten" with one another and in a three month relationship, after Woman's Day reported the pair had been hooking up.
"Dear @WomansDayAus can you not stuff your s*** filled pages with deliberate lies about relationships I've never been in ? Thanks in advance," Rusty tweeted on Monday.
"2/2 Don't make me go all @RebelWilson on your a** @WomansDayAus," the actor added, referring to the fellow Australia's court win over the mag in recent weeks.
On Monday the mag claimed the Gladiator actor and Sophia have been "serious" for the last three months, with a source telling the mag that the pair are "crazy" about each other.
"He's completely smitten. I think even Russell is quietly amused no one has realised what's going on," the publication reported.
Sophia and Russell were seen together last month at the Australian premiere of The Mummy, happily posing for snaps on the red carpet in Sydney.
The source went on to claim that the Hollywood star has even introduced Sophia to his two sons, Charlie, 13, and 10-year-old Tennyson, who he shares with ex-wife Danielle Spencer.
"She has a wonderful exuberance and is a lot of fun, but she's also really down-to-earth and has a direction in life, which he likes," the mag reports.
Sophia and Russell have previously worked together on the 2014 film The Water Diviner, with the actor also a friend of Sophia's father, mining mogul Andrew Forrest.
The latest speculation about Rusty's love life comes after months of persistent rumours lining him to Terri Irwin.
