Royal fans livid over Harry and Meghan's birthday wish to Prince George

It seems Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might want to step away from wishing any of their family members a happy birthday on Instagram, as they’ve yet again been criticised for their shout-out to Prince George.

Just weeks after they were slammed for the way they wished Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince Philip a happy birthday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have now been called out for their note to their nephew, Prince George, on his big day.

“Happy Birthday! Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!,” Meghan and Harry commented under their @sussexroyal account on the Kensington Palace Instagram page.

Their comment has received over 6000 likes, however, there are a number of royal fans who weren’t happy with the birthday wish.

"He is the future KING. Treat him with respect," one commenter wrote. "He is HRH!!!!!!!!!"

“You two need to give Prince George some respect... he is HRH Prince George, for you too,” another person said.

“Happy birthday to whom ?? You can't even write the name of your future boss??,” a royal fan said.

However, others couldn’t believe the hate on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s comment, saying that they’re simply trying to wish their nephew a Happy Birthday without being hounded for it.

“Next time they will ask you for permission [on] how they will congratulate their nephew,” one person said.

“Some of you really need to get a hobby,” a commenter said.

Not the first time

In May, the couple were called out for their birthday message to Princess Charlotte, where they were called ‘disrespectful’ for writing: “Happy Birthday Charlotte! Lots of love, H and M xo.”

And in June, fans called the couple ‘cold’ for simply writing: "Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge!" on a photo of Prince William on the Kensington Royal Instagram account.

They seemed to placate the haters for Prince Philip’s birthday when they wrote: “Wishing His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, Sir, Grandpa a very Happy 98th Birthday!”

Their birthday wish to Prince George came just hours after Kate Middleton posted three new photos of the six-year-old to the Kensington Royal Instagram account.

Two of the snaps showed the future king wearing an England football jersey and another showed the cute boy smiling on holiday in Mustique.
