Three adorable new photos of Prince George released on his sixth birthday

It’s been six years since Kate Middleton stepped out onto the steps of The Lindo Wing in London with her and Prince William’s first baby boy, and new photos of Prince George show how much the future king has grown.

Kensington Palace released three new snaps of Prince George to mark his sixth birthday on Monday, and just like all the other royal photos released by the Cambridges, they were taken by his mum Kate.

Captured in the garden of the Cambridge clan’s Kensington Palace home, Prince George can be seen rolling around in the grass laughing, wearing a white, blue and red England shirt, complete with the Three Lions badge.

Another photo, which was taken during the family’s holiday on the private island of Mustique, shows the six-year-old looking more dressed up in a green polo shirt and a pair of blue and white striped shorts.

Football fan

It comes as no surprise that Prince George is an avid football fan as his dad, Prince William, is the President of The Football Association.

He’s also a huge Aston Villa fan and regularly attends both the FA Cup finals and England games.

The third to line in the throne, who attends Thomas’s Battersea in London, is believed to be now enjoying the school holidays, with sister Charlotte, four, and one-year-old brother Louis.

Kate took her three children to watch their dad and Uncle Harry play in the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day, in Wokingham, Berks earlier this month.

George and Charlotte were spotted playing with a football, as Kate chased after Louis.

The Cambridges were joined by the Duchess of Sussex and baby Archie on the family day out.

Sixth birthday

While plans for George’s birthday are being kept private, it’s believed the family in Mustique, in the Caribbean, once again, where George spent his fifth birthday.

A royal insider told The Sun’s Fabulous that William and Kate’s eldest child has become more “independent” since the arrival of sister Princess Charlotte, and brother Prince Louis.

“With younger siblings Charlotte and Louis taking a lot of the attention at home, George is learning to be more independent,” the friend revealed of the young royal, who will start Year 2 in September.

"Yes, he has been protected from some of the realities about being third in line to the throne, but it is almost as if he is hard-wired to feel a sense of responsibility.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first child was born at 16:24pm at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, on 22 July 2013.

Two days later, his name was announced as George Alexander Louis and he was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace on 23 October 2013.

He began his education at the Westacre Montessori School Nursery in Norfolk in January 2016 and started primary school at the private Thomas’s in September 2017.

George embarked on his royal tour of Australia in 2014, when he was just eight months old. The outfits he wore on the overseas trip marked the beginning of the ‘Prince George effect’ as parents rushed to buy his exact clothing and high street replicas.
