Aussie hunk Steve Peacocke has landed a role in a Hollywood film alongside Tina Fey and fellow ex-pat, Margot Robbie according to Deadline Hollywood.

Paramount Pictures will release the as-yet unnamed film based on Kim Barker’s wartime memoir Taliban Shuffle, starring Tina as a journalist and Steve has reportedly signed on to play the character of Nic, an 'aplha-male Kiwi bodyguard who has the hots for her'.

Although he has already filmed his final scenes as Darryl 'Brax' Braxton on Home and Away, the 33-year-old will remain on our screens for the best part of 2015.

The down-to-earth hunk, who is believed to have already made the move to Los Angeles with new wife, Bridgette Sneddon, opened up to The Daily Telegraph about leaving the show that made him a household name.

“It wasn’t something I was looking forward to because I love the show and the people I work with so much,” he said.

“But I think the key to any good TV series or any good storytelling is to leave the audience at the right point, and where we got to with Brax, we hit a point where it was the best point for him to exit the show. It was just the perfect time I guess.”
