Neil Lane Says “Bachelorette ”Star“ ”Jenn Tran's Diamond Engagement Ring Was Inspired by Her 'Elegance' (Exclusive)
On the season 21 finale, Tran left with a custom Neil Lane diamond ring before news broke of her and Devin's breakup
Before Jenn Tran and Devin Strader’s relationship ended, there was a dazzling engagement ring symbolizing their love.
On the season 21 finale of The Bachelorette, the couple had what appeared to be their happy ending as Jenn, 26, accepted a Neil Lane diamond ring from the 28-year-old Houston freight company owner. (Jenn also proposed to him in the episode with her own ring).
However, in the After the Final Rose special, news broke of the shocking end to their love story, which was called off by Devin over a 15-minute phone call.
Jenn and Devin’s chapter has closed, but the Neil Lane ring hasn’t lost its sparkle, and we have all the details on the design from Lane, who's spent over a decade crafting incredibly meaningful pieces for the couples of the Bachelor and Bachelorette franchises.

"I live in a magical world of design," the famed celebrity jeweler tells PEOPLE of where he finds his inspiration. This time around, he said he looked to antiques and Roman jewelry.
Lane made around six different rings, but the one that was ultimately picked featured a 3-carat oval diamond set in a rounded tapered bezel on a gold band signed by Lane. "The central stone embedded in gold just felt like a relationship to me. It felt like a relationship between the ring and the setting," he says.
It also had an additional 25 "hidden" hand-polished diamonds on the ring's arch to complement the "gloriousness" of the main gemstone and showcase his "signature" sparkle. The 26 diamonds put the ring at 3.25 carats.
Jenn's "elegance" can be found in the ring's design too, as it's a quality of hers that struck Lane the most. "When I met her, she was so gentle, very pretty, and I just thought there was an elegance to her that I had to also incorporate."
The million-dollar question now is: Where did the ring go? All Lane can say is that it went to "ring heaven."

In working with both the Bachelor and Bachelorette stars, Lane has seen couples live their happily ever afters and others move on to find romance elsewhere in their lives. At the end of the day, he remains hopeful about love.
"People are breaking up, people are meeting, people are getting disappointed, they're getting engaged, they're getting unengaged," he says. "In my years of doing this show, I've seen a lot of happy couples. There's some wonderful couples. What do I feel the people that don't make it, if you look back, a lot of them find their person after a few years."
And nothing can compete with the feeling he gets when he sees his bespoke pieces come to life on his clients. "When I see the joy on their faces wearing these rings, it just heightens it for me," he says.
