In an interview with Women's Wear Daily the now-LA based artist explained she was drawn to the site because of its strong message of female empowerment and inclusivity.

“It’s a queer-run and operated company," she told the publication. "It’s a very cool group of women making some very good stuff."

Not that the directing was smooth sailing, with the coronavirus pandemic still devastating the United States and halting production on new projects she hoped to get underway this year.

"We were all set to make several films in February, but things have gotten really, really dicey out [in L.A.]," she said. "And making a regular film during COVID-19 is tough — making a pornographic film during COVID-19? Virtually impossible."

Afterglow is unique in its marketing to women by women, in an industry largely led by male-focused content.

Caitlin's first video for the platform, 'U Up?' was teased on her Instagram on January 12 but a release date hasn't been confirmed.

The company is described as a 'sex-positive, pleasure-focused platform'.

Caitlin, 30, rose to fame playing schoolgirl Rachel Kinski on Neighbours between 2005-2009.

Catilin has long been an outspoken advocate for gender equality, championing the 'free the nipple' movement and encouraging more open discussion and acceptance of female bodies on her 'Herself' website which was launched back in 2015.

She's courted plenty of controversy over her envelope-pushing social media presence, and in 2016 spoke openly about her experience of having an abortion in the wake of former President Donald Trump's win in the 2016 election.
