NBA Star Damian Lillard Fuses Music With Basketball for New Oakley Eyewear Campaign

In his latest collaboration with Oakley, NBA All-Star Damian Lillard has introduced the second iteration of his Signature Series Latch Panel. As an Oakley ambassador, Lillard has played an active role in shaping the design of the release, which captures his dual influence as both a basketball player and a recording artist.

The launch is supported by a campaign featuring an original spoken word track by Lillard, who records music under the name Dame D.O.L.L.A. The piece centers on themes of community, resilience and the foundational support that drives his journey. With a focus on the interconnections between his athletic and musical worlds, the track serves as a testament to Lillard’s versatility. By adopting a spoken word format, Lillard highlights his roots and illustrates how his life on the court parallels his work in the studio, each realm informing the other in discipline and expression.

Crafted from Oakley’s lightweight, durable BiO-Matter, the eyewear features a full-rim, gray-ink frame enhanced with gunmetal deco plates and satin chrome ellipse logos. The details, inspired by the aesthetic of a retro microphone and the sleek finish of a vinyl record, reflect the synergy of Lillard’s on-court and in-studio pursuits. The monochromatic design delivers a clean, streamlined look that aligns with both athletic and casual settings.

The eyewear also includes Oakley’s signature Prizm Lens Technology, designed to enhance color and contrast. A unique Dame D.O.L.L.A. etching at the top center of the lens adds a custom touch, linking the piece to Lillard’s musical persona. For functional versatility, the frame features a three-point fit, adjustable nose pads, and removable glare-blocking side shields. It also includes a Latch mechanism, which allows wearers to clip the frame to their clothing securely.
