Natarsha Belling's emotional farewell to Channel 10 after axing

Natarsha Belling has bid farewell to Channel 10 today after being sacked by the network last week after more than 20 years in the newsroom.

The 45-year-old newsreader took to Instagram to say her heartfelt goodbyes, showing no signs of bitterness towards 10.

She wrote, "I have been overwhelmed with all the love and support so many of you have shown me over the past four days. To all the wonderful viewers, colleagues, family and friends - thank you for all your beautiful messages - they mean the world to me.

"It’s been an absolute pleasure being part of the Network 10 family for more than 22 years and I want to thank the Network for all the wonderful opportunities I’ve enjoyed over the past two decades. During that time, I’ve worked with some of the very best in the TV business who have inspired me with their skill, passion and dedication.

"I’m sad to leave, but excited about the new chapter ahead. I can’t wait to share with you what’s coming up!

"Take care and see you soon."

Rumours quickly began swirling that Natarsha may be moving to Channel Nine to fill in the position left by Tracy Vo earlier this year after she moved back to Perth.

However, Channel Nine's head of news and current affairs Darren Wick told TV Tonight that that's not on the cards.

"Tarsh is a great operator, but we are not currently looking to expand the team," he said.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford revealed in a tweet that he had spoken to Kerri-Anna not long after the news broke and she was surprisingly very accepting of the news.

“Just spoke to KAK on the golf course. She’s sad for others but totally accepts the brutal realities of the industry and will finish in a few weeks. Was told face to face this morning. No anger and no bitchy quotes,” he tweeted.
