Naomi Campbell Revives ’90s Chanel See-through Couture Dress for Cannes Film Festival ‘Furiosa’ Red Carpet Premiere
Naomi Campbell revived one of her iconic runway looks on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday. The supermodel attended the premiere of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” alongside stylist Law Roach, who dressed her for the occasion.
Campbell’s Chanel gown featured bands of mesh cutouts and pearl straps. She originally modeled it on the runway during the French label’s fall 1996 couture presentation.

Campbell accessorized with black pumps, a quilted Chanel handbag and statement earrings, wearing her hair in flowing waves. Her makeup consisted of pink blush and brown lip liner.
Roach donned his own Chanel ensemble, wearing one of the fashion house’s trademark tweed jackets, which was adorned with a sequined checker pattern. The celebrated image architect, who is best known for his work with Zendaya, added on black trousers and crystallized Christian Louboutin boots.
“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is the prequel to director George Miller’s 2015 Oscar-winning film “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The film follows Furiosa’s vengeful fight to return home after being abducted by a horde of bikers. The film debuts in theaters on May 24.
The 77th annual Cannes Film Festival occurs from May 14 to 25. “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig serves as the jury president for this year’s festival, held in the South of France. Several high-profile premieres, including Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” and “Furiosa” starring Anya Taylor-Joy, are expected to take place, while Meryl Streep will receive an honorary Palme d’Or.
