My Kitchen Rules stars break down in tears after judges' scores: ‘Speechless'
My Kitchen Rules contestants Janelle and Monzir were both in tears during Wednesday night’s episode after receiving their scores from judges Manu Feildel and Nigella Lawson.
The couple served an entrée of Sudanese lamb cutlets with peanut sauce and cucumber salad and were awarded a perfect score of 10 out of 10.
“Not only did it look good, but it tasted amazing,” Manu remarked when giving his feedback. “The lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection, I loved that peanut sauce and the fresh cucumber salad.”
“There’s no getting away from it, that was a stupendous start to the evening,” Nigella added.
The pair were stunned when they received the judges’ ratings, with self-proclaimed “sassy baker” Janelle covering her eyes and falling back onto her partner’s arms.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Monzir told the producers. "I was speechless.”
“We got two 10s! The first two 10s of the season!” Janelle said. “We can’t be happier and we’re so thankful.”

‘I’m going to cry’
Earlier in the episode, Monzir got emotional when telling the judges that their entrée was a special family recipe created by his father, who had survived a serious heart attack.
“It does really mean a lot to me,” he said through tears after Nigella praised the “knockout” dish.
“I’m actually a little bit sad, I’m going to cry.
“That’s something that my dad taught me, it’s my dad’s secret recipe so a lot of people come by for my dad because he’s the only one that makes it in Australia.”
Viewers shocked by Nigella’s age
The heartwarming episode comes shortly after fans of the cooking competition were shocked to learn Nigella’s age.
Many were floored to discover that the iconic home cook is 62 years old, with many saying she looked 20 years younger.
“Can someone explain to me how Nigella Lawson can look so stunning ALL THE TIME?” one person said. “She's 62 and looks 42. What kind of witchcraft is she performing!”
“Nigella Lawson is 62 years old??? Holy moley!! I don't trust my own Google search,” another added, while a third said, “There is no way Nigella Lawson is 62.”
“I thought this woman was in her 40s,” someone else commented.
