Music Fans Spot Kendrick Lamar’s Fashion Victory Lap Around Drake At Grammys
Kendrick Lamar had a big night at the Grammys on Sunday as he swept all five categories that featured “Not Like Us,” a diss track aimed at Drake stemming from a bitter feud that’s since sparked legal action from the latter opponent.
Lamar’s success at the award show — which included wins in two major categories, Song of the Year and Record of the Year — proved to be a victory lap of sorts, all while donning a noteworthy look: a Canadian tuxedo.
Lamar’s denim-heavy fit featured a jacket and light-blue jeans to match, which keen-eyed social media users saw as a subtle swipe at Drake, a Canadian rapper who doesn’t hide his Toronto roots.
“This is poetic,” wrote one user on X.
“Wait..Kendrick Wore a….CANADIAN TUXEDO. DIABOLICAL,” read another post on the platform.
The fashion statement didn’t escape other music fans as well.

Fashion is an unescapable part of any musical artist’s image and language. Kendrick sweeping the Grammys in a Canadian tuxedo… nothing’s accidental! pic.twitter.com/LFWri839du

Otherfans of Lamar delighted in what one user called a “goated moment” that saw the crowd shouting one particular line from the hit diss track as he headed to the stage to accept the Grammy for Record of the Year.
Lamar became the second rapper to win Record of the Year and Song of the Year in the same ceremony, following Childish Gambino’s wins for “This Is America” at the 2019 edition.
Lamar, after his Song of the Year win, gave shoutouts to several rappers before adding, “At the end of the day, nothing more powerful than rap music, I don’t care what it is.”
He continued, “We are the culture. We’re going to always stay here and live forever.”
