Mum wows with $1 Christmas decoration hack
Fans can't wait to try this themselves.
A savvy mum has shared a budget way to decorate for Christmas and fans are loving the "genius" idea. Rachel Meaders took to her popular Instagram page to share how she transformed cheap baubles into unique ornaments.
Taking plain, clear baubles she'd bought in bulk on Amazon, Rachel revamped them with a matte balloon cover. The $1 DIY trick allowed her to create custom-coloured decorations that perfectly match her decor for a fraction of the price of other ornaments.
Taking a balloon, Rachel cut off the top to create a bigger opening. She then removed the top of a bauble and placed it inside the balloon. Once the balloon was wrapped around the bauble and any bumps were smoothed out, she placed the cap back on and it was ready to hangh.

"Each cost me about $1 to make, and they are beautiful," the US woman wrote, adding that she purchased a bulk pack of 100 balloons on Amazon for around $15. She also tried different-sized baubles, giving her a full set of custom decorations.
Rachel's followers absolutely loved the fuss-free hack. "This is freaking genius because you can change them out every year if you want! Mind blown!" one fan commented.
Others praised Rachel's idea for helping to protect precious decorations. "I LOVE THIS! I have kitties, and boy, is Christmas a pain! This will help protect the ornaments they are able to reach, and you can do any theme! Love, love, love!" another follower wrote.
Those who usually paint their Christmas baubles also loved the hack. "So smart! I usually spray-paint mine to have custom colours, but this looks so much easier!" responded one DIY enthusiast. "Fun idea! Much easier than painting," agreed another.
