The moment Meghan Markle interrupted an interview to meet a fan

There’s no denying the Duchess of Sussex is great with people – a fantastic skill to have when you’re thrusted into the spotlight as royal.

It seems even before officially becoming a part of the British royal family, Meghan Markle impacted many of her fans and those around her.

One such person is Emily Sorrells, who detailed the moment she met her idol, Meghan, as the former Suits star was being interviewed by BUILD at the AOL headquarters in New York City three years ago.

Emily admits in her blog post that she “found inspiration” from Meghan, through the 37-year-old’s former blog The Tig and how it taught her to “value” and have “confidence” in herself.

On March 17, 2016, Emily got the opportunity to meet the former actress, and describes it as the “best day of my life”.

Meghan noticed her from the stage and “squealed” when she saw Emily, as they had been chatting on social media for a number of years.

However, during the interview Meghan took the opportunity to discuss her fans, and mentioned Emily.

“She wrote me a letter,” Emily explains in her post. “She came down from the stage to give me it and gave me the most wonderful hug I have ever received.

“She went out of her way to make me feel more special than I ever thought I could deserve.

“She truly values her fans and made that very clear when she sacrificed a portion of her interview for ME.”

In the heartfelt and beautifully penned letter, Meghan told her how “proud” she was for the difference in the world Emily was making.

A few months after the interview took place, Meghan quite literally met her Prince Charming – aka Prince Harry.

As many will know, the couple announced their engagement in November 2017 and married in May last year.

The pair are set to welcome their first child together in about two months time.
