Secret detail in Modern Family star's wedding dress: 'Beauty'
Modern Family star Sarah Hyland and partner Wells Adams have finally tied the knot.
The celebrity pair wed at the Sunstone Winery in California on Saturday, and the officiant was somebody very special — Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played Sarah’s uncle on Modern Family.
Jesse wasn’t the only costar to make an appearance, with Nolan Gould, Julie Bowen, Ariel Winter and Sofia Vergara also supporting Sarah on her big day.
The actress donned two Vera Wang dresses for the wedding, with her ceremony gown fitting perfectly with the ‘Old World romance’ feel at the winery.
She stunned in her light ivory sweetheart gown, which had delicate tulle sleeves as well as an elegant high slit.

The star knew that she wouldn’t be able to get through the ceremony without tearing up, so she asked Vera Wang to make one important alteration.
“I had Vera Wang put pockets into my dress, so I was able to have my handkerchief and q-tips at the ready,” she told Vogue.
Her makeup was kept simple, with her makeup artist Denika Bedrossian aiming to keep it “classic and timeless”, and her hair was swept back in a messy, elegant bun.
For her second gown, Vera Wang described her choice as “A soft white Italian crepe gown with a draped neckline, hand placed macramé lace and draped Italian tulle sleeves.”
When discussing their wedding weekend, Wells also told Vogue that there “wasn’t a dry eye in the house” during speeches at their rehearsal dinner.
Jesse shared some sweet photos of the happy couple on Instagram, and dedicated a sweet message to the newlyweds.
“My queen and king FINALLY had the most epic of weddings. I love you both so so much. What a magical few days.
“I had the best seat in the house for this stunner of a wedding. What an honour to marry my two dear friends Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams. I couldn’t be happy for you love bugs. I also do Bar Mitzvahs,” he wrote.
Ariel Winter, who played the star’s sister on Modern Family, shared a photo of herself with the bride with ‘Sisters for-eves’ written on it.
Sarah first met the Bachelor In Paradise star Wells in 2017, when they clicked at a pre-Emmys benefit event.
The pair then got engaged in 2019, and have been planning their wedding ever since, with Covid lockdowns and busy schedules causing delays.
Sarah shared photos of the proposal in Fiji, writing, “That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff.”
Celebrity pals were quick to send their congratulations to the pair, with Debra Messing writing: “BEAUTY!!!! Mazel tov!!!! I was with you the night you met at the Nigh Before!!! And now — forever.”
“SO DREAMY! Congratulations!!! So excited for you,” added Catherine Giudici.
“Congratulations beauty!!” wrote Alison Brie.
“You looked so incredibly beautiful, it was an honour to be there and finally see you two get married,” Chris Harrison commented.
