Miranda July’s ‘All Fours’ Novel Lands At Starz For Series Development
EXCLUSIVE: Starz has acquired the rights to Miranda July’s buzzy novel All Fours to develop as a TV series. The book, about a woman at a turning point in her life who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening, has been a hot property since its May 2024 release, with a number of studios and platforms circling it for film or TV adaptation. It ultimately landed at Starz.
“I’m thrilled that All Fours has found a home at Starz,” July said. “I had an electric feeling from the moment we met; it was clear we were speaking the same language. Rather than shying away from all the messy contradictions within sexuality and desire, Starz really digs into the reality of who women are and what we want, which makes it the perfect place to bring my novel to life. This is going to be wild.”

All Fours centers on a married woman in her 40s who has a sexual awakening after a brief affair, embarking on new sexual relationships and redefining the parameters of her marriage. The project fits into Starz’s female focus and emphasis on mature content exemplified by the network’s “We’re All Adults Here” tagline.
“We are honored that Miranda has entrusted us with the adaptation of her magnificent novel All Fours,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at Starz. “As we continue to expand our boundary-pushing programming for adults, we’re excited to work with Miranda on this extraordinary story that resonates with women around the world.”
All Fours, which sparked a cultural conversation about female desire, aging and unconventional relationships upon release, was an instant New York Times bestseller and has been on the Indie Bestseller List for 38 weeks and counting. Named a Best Book of 2024 by every major publication, the novel was a Sunday Times Bestseller in the UK, and has sold in 25 territories to date.
CAA brokered the deal with Starz on behalf of July. She is managed by Ilene Feldman Management and represented by Sarah Chalfant at The Wylie Agency for publishing.
