Miley Cyrus doesn't regret any step of her journey.

In an Instagram video shared on Monday, Jan. 27 with Pamela Anderson about The Last Showgirl, Cyrus, 32, spoke about what she's learned throughout her career. [Anderson stars in the film, while Cyrus performs "Beautiful That Way" on its soundtrack.]

She also recalled wanting to be the Baywatch actress when she grew up. "Ever since I was little, it was only Pam when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up," Cyrus said. "I would say you. And the whole thing. The tattoos, the hair, all of it. That's all I wanted to do."

The Hannah Montana alum added that she loved watching Anderson evolve and felt inspired: "I've had so many different pivots and evolutions and — one might say — detours within my path. But it always ends up coming back around to make the next stage of who we are. Something that's more potent, something that's more real."

Anderson, 57, agreed: "Sometimes you need to go do a little research and come back to your path." She then recalled once telling a director she wanted to "let everything go" from her past. "I don't want to think about it anymore, but then [the director] goes, 'No, bring it with you, baby.' "

She figured that she needed to bring her baggage with her. "I'm not ashamed of my life. I don't need to let anything go," she concluded.

The Last Song actress shared a similar sentiment. "Funnily enough when I look back, all the mistakes, anything I was unsure of or I didn't understand, I am so proud of every moment and now every stage of my life."

"I would not go back and change anything," Cyrus continued, before quipping, "except a couple things I was wearing."

Anderson doesn't even consider the missteps in life "mistakes." "I just want to know who I am," she said about her acting roles, which include Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway and now The Last Showgirl. "How will you know unless you try?" she mused.

After earning a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in The Last Showgirl, Anderson was snubbed in the 2025 Oscar nominations, announced Jan. 23.

“Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win," she told ELLE after the nominations were announced. "That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus."

The Last Showgirl is currently in theaters.
