Who Is Miguel from 'Claim to Fame' Related To? An Investigation

Step aside Sherlock Holmes! This season, I will be doing my darnedest to figure out the secret identities of the Claim to Fame contestants. As I'm watching each week, I'll be cataloging the information we learn along the way and attempting to piece together the clues to determine the relative of each contestant. Spoilers for all episodes that have aired. Here's everything we have learned about Miguel and my predictions:

Episode 1 clues

Two truths and a lie:

My celebrity relative is my: GRANDFATHER (Lie)
My celebrity relative is best known for being an: ACTOR (Truth)
The biggest award my celebrity relative has won: OSCAR (Truth)

Miguel revealed in the premiere that he's using a fake name to make the other contestants guess he's related to someone hispanic. He also revealed that his relative is not his grandfather.

The other contestants' best guesses

Desi Arnaz
Erik Estrada
Jeff Goldblum

Since Miguel was in the bottom two this week, he got plenty of screen time. Other contestants suggested Desi Arnaz, Erik Estrada or Jeff Goldblum as potential relatives, but these weren't based on much of anything, and none of these people have Oscars.

Parade's prediction for celebrity relative

Rami Malek
Susan Sarandon
Christian Bale

Basically all we know is that the relative has won an acting Oscar and presumably isn't hispanic. That doesn't narrow things down much for us and leaves hundreds of people as candidates.

Claim to Fame airs Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
