While many East Coasters might be looking ahead to spring (which begins in just T-minus seven days!), Michelle Obama is making a case for fall hues to be worn all year long. And, who are we to argue with a fashion icon?
Obama arrived at Texas's Austin Convention Center for the 2025 SXSW Conference and Festival yesterday, and despite the city's blistering 80-degree temperatures, she came suited up in a delightful autumn look. The former first lady showed off her out-of-the-box style in a burnt-orange two-piece set that had some groovy '70s flair. Up top, she layered a rust-colored cropped denim jacket that featured silver buttons and brown lace-up details on each pocket, over a simple black long sleeve. As for bottoms, she kept the theme going and took a page out of Kendrick Lamar's book with coordinating boot-cut jeans. The creme de la creme of the piece came via a lace-up fly. To bring everything together, the mom-of-two wore black leather pointed-toe boots and accented with dainty drop earrings and a smattering of diamond rings.

As for beauty, the Becoming author wore her hair in waist-grazing braids with a braided headband. She glammed up with a chiseled contour, subtle smokey eye, and glossy lips.
Obama was joined onstage by her brother Craig Robinson, who was clad in his own fall colors, including a light-brown leather jacket, bright white T-shirt, and black jeans. The two did a live recording of their new podcast, "IMO."

Obama gets quite candid on the podcast. Recently, she revealed her biggest pet peeve about her husband and the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama—and it's so relatable.
“Barack, you know, he had to adjust to what on time was for me,” Michelle told her brother, who joked that Barack's tardiness was because he "was on that island time,” referring to the former president's Hawaiian roots.

Per one example, Michelle said Barack has a tendency to run to the restroom right “when it’s time to leave."
“I was like, ‘Dude, a 3 o’clock departure means you’ve done all that,’ you know, it’s like, don’t start looking for your glasses at the 3 o’clock departure,” she continued, though she added he has improved over "30 years of marriage."
