Jon Stewart Exposes Donald Trump’s Favorite Defense With 1 Scathing Question

The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart spent Monday night’s opening monologue giving government workers a few strategies for how to dodge the so-called Department of Government Efficiency layoffs with lessons straight from President Donald Trump and his administration.

And when it comes to Trump, Stewart said job security “clearly doesn’t come from the quality of your work. But the ass-iness of your kisses.”

What followed was a masterclass in how the Trump administration handled the Signal group messaging scandal with strategies such as blaming former President Joe Biden, pointing the finger at coworkers and attacking the media.

But the top strategy of all came from Trump himself.

Stewart showed a video of Trump promising to bring “honor and integrity and accountability back” and quoting President Harry S. Truman, saying, “the buck stops here.”

But does it?

In another clip, Trump denied knowing anything about the Signal chat scandal.

“Trump has deployed this strategy better than anyone,” Stewart said, then rolled clips of the president repeatedly denying knowing anything about any number of other issues and policies, including the launch of Trump’s own crypto-coin.

“I don’t know much about it other than I launched it,” Trump insisted on that one.

“I don’t know much about it other than I launched it,” Stewart repeated in disbelief, then asked one key question about the president: “You start to wonder: Does the buck stop anywhere with this dude?”
