Michael Stahl-David, Scottie Thompson & Michael Weston Join Dark Comedy ‘Down To The Felt’

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield), Scottie Thompson (Crown Vic) and Michael Weston (Home Before Dark) are in production in Ohio on Down to the Felt, an indie dark comedy with action elements from filmmaker Jon Osbeck. The trio joins a cast that also includes Jo-Ann Robinson and Cullen Douglas.

Written and produced by Dino Tripodis, Ralph Scott, and Osbeck, Down to the Felt tells the story of Paul (Stahl-David), a down-on-his-luck compulsive gambler who makes a desperate deal with a psychopathic hitman (Weston) to kill him in two weeks. But then he meets Erica (Thompson), a mystery woman, and life suddenly starts dealing him aces.

Previously co-directing the award-winning military drama Minus One, Osbeck is also producing Down to the Felt through his production shingle Big Deal Pictures, alongside Douglas.

Stated Osbeck, “It’s truly an embarrassment of riches to be working with both Michaels and Scottie. Their roles all demand a high proficiency of comedy and pathos, and luckily, the three of them have it all in spades.”

Added actor-producer Douglas, “I’m thrilled to work with and alongside this incredible cast. Scottie and I have worked together in the past (Portrait of a Woman at Dawn) and were looking for a project to reunite on – And Michael Stahl-David and Michael Weston are both at the top of their game.”

On the film side, Stahl-David is best known for turns in titles like Cloverfield and LBJ. Over the years, he’s also been seen on shows like Good Sam, Almost Family, The Deuce, Narcos, Show Me a Hero and The Black Donnellys, among others.

In film, Thompson’s credits include Murder at Yellowstone City, Crown Vic and Before I Wake. She’s also been seen on such series as Bel-Air, MacGyver, 12 Monkeys, NCIS and The Blacklist, to name just a few.

Weston’s TV credits include Home Before Dark, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Resident and House, among others. Feature credits include Wish I Was Here, Liberal Arts, State of Play, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Garden State.

Stahl-David is repped by Innovative Artists and Greenlight Management and Production; Thompson by TalentWorks and Mainstay Entertainment; Weston by Innovative, Strand Entertainment, and Schreck Rose Dapello; Robinson by Action Talent; Douglas by Greene Talent; and Osbeck by Docherty Agency.
