'Sinners,' in theaters March 7, 2025, reunites Michael B. Jordan with his 'Black Panther' and 'Creed' director Ryan Coogler

Michael B. Jordan reunites with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler for his latest movie.

Warner Bros. Pictures released the first trailer for Coogler's new film Sinners, which sees Jordan, 37, pulling double duty playing twin brothers who encounter an evil presence in their hometown.

An official synopsis for Sinners, which also stars Hailee Steinfeld, describes the thriller as "a new vision of fear" and includes a quote heard from one character in the teaser: “You keep dancing with the devil, one day he’s gonna follow you home.”

"Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back," the synopsis reads.

Sinners first received media attention in January 2024, when The Hollywood Reporter reported that Coogler wrote the then-untitled film as a wholly original project, his first since 2013's Fruitvale Station, which also starred Jordan. Warner Bros. Pictures revealed the project's title in an announcement shared to social media on Monday, Sept. 23, writing in a caption alongside a short title reveal, "Sinners are coming."

The upcoming film marks director Coogler's first movie since 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and another collaboration between Coogler, 38, and Jordan, who memorably originated his Adonis Creed character in Coogler's 2015 film Creed and portrayed the villain Killmonger in the pair's 2018 original Black Panther film.

Steinfeld, 27, is seen in the trailer only briefly, during a moment of her dancing. The movie marks her first appearance since she made a cameo appearance in Marvel's 2023 movie The Marvels.

Delroy Lindo and Jack O'Connell also costar in Sinners, which releases in theaters March 7, 2025.
