Melania Trump outsourced this touching White House tradition

Melania Trump has finally left the White House after weeks of reportedly being desperate to return home, and it seems she didn’t bother with the touching tradition of personally penning thank you notes to staff members.

The family has been cared for by White House staff for the past four years of Donald Trump’s presidency, and typically would receive a personal note from the First Lady thanking them for their service upon the family’s departure.

White House staff usually remain in the house between presidencies, rather than turning over with each administration.

This time around, however, CNN has reported that the First Lady delegated the task to a junior staffer of the East Wing (the First Lady’s area of the house), reportedly asking that they be written ‘in her voice’.

The US news outlet reports that two sources ‘with knowledge of the notes and Trump's handling of them’ said the letters were typed out by the staffer and signed by Melania, before being distributed to some 80 staff that take care of the house.

Initially, the staffers believed the notes to have been personally written by Melania, as they have been by former First Ladies.

The First Lady’s exit from the White House has been anything but smooth sailing as criticism snapped at her heels even as she closed the door behind her for the very last time.

Last week Melania responded to reports she was photographing rugs in the White House for her coffee table book while a mob stormed the US Capitol on in a pro-Trump riot which left five people dead.

According to CNN, the First Lady, who remained silent on social media, was spotted with professional lighting and videography by a source outside the White House.

Melania’s chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, resigned after the riots, as did White House social secretary, Anna Cristina "Rickie" Niceta.

Melania called the rumours ‘salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks and false misleading accusations’ in a blog post denying the reports.

Insiders have for weeks been reporting that Melania is dying to get out of the White House, and was even packing up in secret while her husband continued to contest Joe Biden’s victory.

It was reported that Melania packed up their things ‘undercover’ to avoid causing President Donald Trump too much distress.

The First Lady was also said to have been prepping the family’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida for when their White House tenure comes to an end since early December.

"She just wants to go home," a source told CNN, revealing that rumours of Donald Trump perhaps trying his arm at the presidential bid in 2024 "might not go over well" with the First Lady.
